July is National UV Safety Awareness Month, and at Covenant Living, we love spending time outdoors in the beautiful summer sunshine! However, staying sun-savvy is about more than just avoiding a temporary sunburn—it's a vital part of senior wellness.
To keep our community healthy and energized, we always remind our residents:
🧴 Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen: Use SPF 30 or higher to protect skin from harmful UV rays.
👒 Wear smart sun protection: Opt for stylish wide-brimmed hats and UV-blocking sunglasses to shield your face and eyes.
🌿 Establish a post-sun routine: Use a deep moisturizer or aloe-based lotion to soothe and hydrate skin after spending time outdoors.
Remember, the sun is strongest between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, so let’s enjoy those cooler morning strolls and shady afternoon patios together! ... See MoreSee Less

At Covenant Living, we believe that the best way to lead is to listen—and sometimes, the best way to listen is on two wheels!
For this #FeatureFriday, we’re heading to Shannondale at Maryville to see how Executive Director Dawn Doud is bringing a fresh perspective to community engagement. By trading her desk for her bike, Dawn hits the streets to meet residents right where they are—in their yards, on their porches, and in the heart of their neighborhoods. It’s all about those "small miles" that lead to truly "big moments" of connection.
Whether it’s a quick wave or a long chat over a garden fence, these daily rides ensure every resident has a voice and a friend in leadership. Check out the video below to see how Dawn is pedaling through the community to make sure everyone feels at home. ... See MoreSee Less

At Covenant Living, our employees are the heart of everything we do.
Recently, teams across our communities came together to celebrate our annual Day of Belonging—a special day dedicated to recognizing the people who bring our mission to life every day.
From team activities and shared meals to moments of laughter and connection, communities across the country found their own ways to celebrate what makes Covenant Living such a special place to work.
Thank you to each of our employees for the care, compassion, and commitment you bring to residents, families, and one another every day.
